My Background

After graduating from an accredited massage therapy training program in 2004, I spent 5 years working as a massage therapist at ski resorts in Maine and Utah before moving to sunny Santa Barbara in 2009. Throughout my career I have worked with a wide variety of clientele, from infants to elderly, and competitive athletes to those with more sedentary lifestyles. I have always maintained repeat clientele and I am passionate about my clients' health and well-being.

My Approach

My approach to each customized massage session combines my professional knowledge and intuition with the requests and expressed concerns of the client. The pressure can vary from light to deep and I primarily use a combination of massage techniques, including long strokes, trigger point therapy, cross fiber friction, and pin-and-stretch movements, as needed, to lengthen and separate the muscles, increase circulation and range of motion, and to break up adhesions or trigger points (a.k.a., "knots").
